Welcome to Friends of Burnley Parks

Welcome to Burnley’s official website for all the volunteer Friends of Parks groups. Here you will find all the information you need regarding the volunteer activities, events and find out how you can get involved in parks and greenspaces in your area.

Currently we have 6 Green Flag parks all with active volunteer groups who are the voice of the community and work with Burnley Borough Council to preserve and enhance Burnley’s Parks.

We’ll be adding content as we go, for now, you’ll find the most content under the Friends of Towneley Park.

Towneley Hall – temporary closure

Towneley Hall is temporarily closing from 17th June until Spring 2025 to allow the completion of essential repairs and restoration works. The shop, toilets, lecture theatre, Museum of Local Crafts & Industries (behind the Hall) and Park Life Café will all remain open. Updates will be posted on Towneley Hall’s social media channels and on www.towneleyhall.org.uk

Please help us spread the word!

On our final weekend of the Hall being open, entry will be free of charge for everyone! Opening times are 12-5pm (the last entry is 4pm). We will be closed from Monday 17th June so take one last look around the Hall until it re-opens it all its glory in Spring 2025.
